Most homes have outlets and switches that have never been touched since they were installed. Over time, the internal contact springs wear out, connections loosen, and devices that were fine a decade ago become shock hazards or fire risks. A plug that falls out of an outlet, a switch that feels mushy, or an outlet that sparks when you plug in are all signs that something needs attention.
Outlet and switch replacement is straightforward work, but doing it right means more than just swapping the device. The wire connections matter -- pushed-in "backstab" connections that many old outlets use fail far more often than properly screwed connections. How It Works
Circuit Off & Verified
Breaker off, voltage tester confirms dead circuit before anything is touched.
Old Device Removed
Existing outlet or switch removed, wiring inspected for condition and correct connections.
New Device Wired
New receptacle or switch wired correctly, connections torqued to spec, ground confirmed.
Tested Under Load

Plate & Cleanup
